Computer Frustrations

How frustrating when you are working on your computer and all of a sudden something grabs onto it and won't let go. This happened to me about a week ago. I was going to look at a map to plot a trip. Then a whole bunch of maps popped up - I didn't know what was happening! I didn't use any of those maps, just went to the AAA Tour Map. What happened next - anytime I went to a new tab on my browser (google chrome) I got a full page ad for something, which I had to "X" out before I could continue. Also, the Yahoo search engine had replaced my google search engine.
The resolution to the first problem was relatively easy. I found the application up on my toolbar and uninstalled it - gone! thankfully.
Yahoo was a bigger problem. Of course, you must go to the internet to find resolutions to this. Google had me make the Chrome search engine the default (sounds simple, right?). Even though Google was now the default - Yahoo still came up as the search engine. Back to the internet. There were several solutions that I tried...such as finding certain programs and deleting them...but I didn't seem to have those programs. Then a suggestion to download a program from Malwarebytes called junkware removal tool. It worked! If you need it, just google it and download.
All this came about because I had just started my blog and had gone through the process of getting it recognized by Google, so anyone could type n2whatmatters and up comes my blog. Great, but the search didn't work under Yahoo. Problem solved...for those who use google search. Not working for Microsoft Bing either. Guess I will have to work on that. Keep you posted.
