Yes, we got rain today

Strange to think about, because we live in this very dry desert area...but we had a thunderstorm this morning. Husband says it woke him up about 2 am. It woke me about 3 am. WOW! what a spectacle!

I shouldn't think this is so unusual, as we lived in Arizona for about 12 years and the Monsoons could get really crazy. Usually dumping lots of rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning. But here in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio...etc) not much rain all year. In fact last year, here in Indio, we had maybe one rain shower of short duration that dried up on contact. This was very different.

A couple of observations: our roof is now clean (a probably dry, by now), I just got my windows washed (so, of course we should have expected rain) and worried about taking the car out to get dirty from the mud puddles (or are they all dried up by now?)
